Frequently Asked

How much do sessions cost?

All of our clinicians charge different fees. Please visit our individual "about me" pages to learn about our different fees.

There are limited sliding scale spots available and those fees can be negotiated with the client on a case by case basis. Sliding scale spots are often filled, but will also have a separate waitlist that prioritizes TQBIPOC.

Do you accept insurance?

Currently our clincians are not accepting insurance, but are able to regularly provide superbills so that clients can file claims for out of network reimbursements.

Mike does not accept insurance, but does file claims for folx with out-of-network benefits to get reimbursed for sessions. Policies often reimburse 50-90% of the session fee. Superbills (invoices) are also regularly provided.

Are you offering sessions in person?

Currently we offer both in-person and telehealth sessions on a case-by-case basis based on capacity. Please talk to your counselor about these options during your free consult! If you choose to do telehealth, you will be sent a link before your sessions that will bring you to a video chat on a secure medium. A benefit of telehealth is being able to have treatment in one’s own safest spaces, with access to what helps us feel comfortable and soothed. Many clients share wanting to stick to telehealth even when the practice switches to an in-person setting.

What should I expect during a free consult?

The therapist you are trying to reach will either answer your call/email immediately or will call/email you back within 48 hours. You can expect questions that explore issues such as what you are looking for in a therapist, what you are looking to address in therapy, what is prompting you to reach out, and more logistical questions pertaining to  scheduling and whether you are looking to use insurance for reimbursement. This will be a brief conversation (10-15 minutes) by the end of which, depending on fit, you will be presented with the option of scheduling with the therapist or getting put on our waitlist.
